The Woolen Mills

First food post of many more to come!

Yesterday my mom and I went to the Woolen Mills in the city centre. The restaurant used to be a wool and fabric shop of the same name. I used to go there often and was very sad when it closed (my choice of wool colours was more limited) but I took comfort in the fact that it was turned into a place with delicious food.

We ate upstairs with a lovely view of the Liffey, I love the decor.

I had a pastrami and swiss cheese sandwich with chickpea soup.

My mom had a tuna sandwich, I’d had it before and it was sooooo yummy! I’m definitely going to have to get it again.

I had to ask the waiter what the “green thing” was because I’d never seen it before. My mom said it must be a type of seaweed and I thought it was a weird cousin of asparagus. It turns out it’s called samphire, a type of seaweed also called the asparagus of the sea. I’d like to think we were both right… but really she was… don’t tell her I said that.

I’d definitely recommend the Woolen Mills, tasty food, a great view and nice staff that don’t laugh at you when you ask them what things are!

  1. Great photographs!

Do you think I would eat the chickpea soup? I don’t like many foods, so you’ll have to figure out how my tongue works to recommend very well!
